Sauro Mocetti is the head of the Law and Economics Division at the Economics and Research Department of the Bank of Italy. After graduating from University of Siena in 2002, he got a Master of Sciences in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and a PhD in Economics from University of Bologna, and he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. He is an applied economist mainly interested in public economics, urban economics, corporate governance and the role of institutions. His research has been published in top journals as American Economic Review and Review of Economic Studies and top field journals as Economic Policy, Journal of Human Resources, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Urban Economics and Review of Financial Studies. Mr Mocetti has also served as a consultant to the government on policy and economic matters.
